Just Wanted to Add Another 5 Stars
Continuum is worth the hype. After discovering season one while it was still just a small Canadian show, I've been salivating for the second season. In the months since the first season ended though, Continuum has blown up in the US and while I am incredibly grateful for this--I was worried that it would somehow be affected or influenced in a negative manner given a bigger budget and larger audience.
While the special effects used have been consistently top notch, the reason why this show works so well for me is not because it's scifi, but because of its emphasis on the characters. Personally, I think one of the greatest achievements of a scifi picture, is when it can let the viewer actually forget that is what they are watching. When the setting and characters are so authentic, that it's simply real. I AM HOOKED!
I am a huge sci fi fan, have been since Star Trek TOS when it aired during my Junior High School years!(just really dated myself) Regardless, I stumbled across Continuum on Netflix and it took me a few weeks before I finally clicked on the icon to give the show a try, man am I glad I did! I watched season 1 in one week, but I had not realized that season 2 had already begun, so thankful for Amazon Instant Video. I am caught up now and the DVR is set for the rest of the season. This show is outstanding. Multiple character development, a flash forward flash back story line that keeps a viewer glued, hoping to figure out the next revelation. The ensemble cast does a fabulous job and Rachel Nichols lead character work is first rate, absolutely fantastic! The CGI is great, not too over the top and the camera angles used during some of the scenes really bring you into the action in a very unique way. each episodes Direction is superb and I have to give a big...
Even Better Than Season One!
I had a chance to catch the first 6 episodes of season 2 in Canada and all I can say is if you love season one, you won't be disappointed. I wish we could order Canadian releases in the states, but for some reason it is not possible...licensing for SyFy probably...but it's finally begun here so go buy the season!
